Supporting World Teachers’ Day

by Group Office on 2 October, 2014

Redcar Liberal Democrats are urging people to recognise the hard work done by teachers in our communities.

This comes in the run-up to World Teachers’ Day, held on 5 October.

Councillor Josh Mason, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Redcar & Cleveland Council, commented:

“It is right to celebrate the work done by teachers, not just locally but across the world.

“We all benefit from living in a better educated society. The efforts by teachers to bring this about, often under challenging circumstances, should not go unrecognised.

“As Liberal Democrats we are doing our best to help teachers carry out their role. That is why we have forced the Conservatives to agree to free school meals for all five, six and seven year olds, which has been proven to improve health and behaviour of children.

“It also saves Redcar parents £437a year.”
