Vince Cable and Josh Mason launch the Liberal Democrat manifesto for Redcar & Cleveland

On a visit to Redcar Constituency last week, Vince Cable MP joined local Parliamentary Candidate Cllr Josh Mason and the Redcar Liberal Democrats to launch the party’s local manifesto.

The manifesto outlines the group’s vision for the area, including plans for better council to business relations, improved local services, a cleaner environment and a fairer approach to council tax rates.

Deputy Leader of the Council and Parliamentary Candidate Cllr Josh Mason commented:

“Our manifesto outlines a brighter future for Redcar and Cleveland with a focus on basic services and improved communication with residents and business.

“We have ensured that our priorities focus on what local people really want – a realistic strategy which creates a stronger local economy and a fairer society for everyone.”

Liberal Democrat Business Secretary Vince Cable MP said:

“I’m very impressed with Redcar’s manifesto. It is not an attempt to promise what can’t be delivered, it is a simple promise to do what is necessary to improve the local area and to listen to what local people want.

“I have known the current MP, Ian Swales a long time and have been to Redcar many times as Sectary of State to support the hard work of the local party here. Residents in Redcar deserve a council and an MP who listens and will fight for them and this is definitely the team for the job.”
