Hundreds object to Swan’s Corner housing plan

by Group Office on 31 May, 2016

At least 532 residents signed letters objecting to Bellway’s plan to build 141 houses at Swan’s Corner.

A large team of volunteers contacted local residents to seek their support in sending objections to the Council.

Opposition to the scheme was convincing and overwhelming.

Residents’ top objections are worsening traffic problems, lack of school places and lost green spaces.

Residents want to know where the demand is for more houses. Pressure on local house values is already being felt.

House building at Swan’s Corner is included in the Labour Council’s draft Local Plan but excludes the Flatts Lane development.

No date has been set for the Regulatory Committee to consider Bellway’s planning application.
