Liberal Democrats in Redcar are delighted that Marske Councillor Karen King is the new Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland.
Karen was elected in 2015 to serve the St Germains Ward. She runs her own business as a humanist celebrant, organising secular weddings, funerals, baby namings, etc.
Today she was elected Mayor of the borough. She is the first Liberal Democrat Mayor of Redcar & Cleveland in a decade.
Councillor Josh Mason, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group, said:
“Since being elected Karen has proved herself to be a first class councillor for the people of Marske.
“I am delighted that the council has chosen her as Mayor and I know she will do an excellent job for the whole borough.”

Karen, congratulations! You have never looked back since leaving the “old job” at Teesdale. I wish you every success.
