Victory in Dormanstown

by Group Office on 24 May, 2014

The Liberal Democrats have held on to the Dormanstown ward in yesterday’s Council by-election.

New Councillor Sabrina Thompson was elected by the people of Dormanstown, Kirkleatham and Yearby in the election caused by the retirement through ill health of Lib Dem John Earl.

The result was:

Sabrina Thompson (Liberal Democrats) 753

Labour 741

UKIP 523

Sabrina lives in the ward, has four children and is studying Law.

Lib Dem Group Leader Glyn Nightingale said:

“This shows that once again the people have put their trust in the Liberal Democrats because of our all-year-round hard work and local action.”

“It’s great to have Sabrina in the Council Group. She will be a great asset to the Council and will work hard to get things done in the area.”
