Redcar Town Clock is not working and has been out of action for some time. It is time for action, says a local Lib Dem councillor.

Redcar Town clock is relied upon by shoppers and visitors, and is one of the iconic emblems of the town. Local people hate it when it is not accurate.

Redcar Councillor Chris Abbott said:

“We had this problem prior to 2003 following a similar period of stringent cuts.

“We were told the clock was unserviceable but it was only seized up through lack of maintenance.

“Once again we see the Labour council bosses failing to get the basics right.

“I have written to the council’s Chief Executive demanding that the clock be repaired without delay.”
